A digital tip from a 13 year old, Matthew.
Are followers numbers more important than real friend connecting online?
People trying to get the most amounts of likes or followers – but why?
Social media is meant to be about connecting with real friends. What is the point of only focusing on follower numbers and then expecting them to connect with your posts or photos.
These are people who don’t know you. Yet you then judge yourself when they don’t engage with your social content This can create a spiral of you judging your self work, which in turn could lead to anxiety and depression.
Matthew’s tip is to control who you let onto your social media accounts and don’t fall into the trap of thinking that heaps of followers relates to your popularity.
